Points & MilesAeroplan's Newest Promo: Up to 110% Bonus on Purchased Points!
Aeroplan has launched another promotion, and it is a strong one if you need to top up your balance or you are eyeing a specific redemption.
This is a targeted offer, so the bonus you see may differ from what another member sees. The highest tier being offered is up to a 110% bonus when you buy points, the strongest buy points offer we have seen from Aeroplan in recent months. Many members, myself included, are seeing up to a 90% bonus. Both versions run until July 19, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT.
Note: because this is a targeted promotion, your bonus tiers may differ from the ones below. Log in to your Aeroplan account and refresh the buy points page during the offer period to see your personal offer.
By the way! If you aren't already a subscriber and want to receive biweekly flight deal emails that include the best Aeroplan redemptions I can find, make sure to subscribe to my free newsletter by entering your email here.

Current Promotion Details
Outside of promotional periods, Aeroplan sells points at a base rate of 3.75 cents per point (CAD). During this promotion, you could acquire points for as low as 1.79 cents per point (CAD) with the 110% bonus, or 1.97 cents per point (CAD) with the 90% bonus, both before taxes.
Because this is a targeted offer, the exact bonus tiers vary from member to member. Here are the two versions we are seeing most often.
Targeted offer: up to 110% bonus
- Buy 5,000–25,000 points: 55% bonus
- Buy 30,000–75,000 points: 75% bonus
- Buy 90,000+ points: 110% bonus
Standard offer: up to 90% bonus
- Buy 3,000–20,000 points: 40% bonus
- Buy 25,000–45,000 points: 60% bonus
- Buy 50,000+ points: 90% bonus
Some members may receive different bonus offers, so your tier breakdown could look different from the ones above.
Purchase Limits
Aeroplan allows members to purchase up to 1,000,000 points per calendar year, one of the most generous limits among loyalty programs.
For this promotion specifically, the per-transaction limit has been temporarily increased from the usual 250,000 base points to 500,000 base points per transaction.
If you are buying points directly for another Aeroplan member, you can purchase a minimum of 3,000 and up to 500,000 points per transaction, to a maximum of 500,000 points per calendar year for that purpose. The recipient receives both the base points and the bonus points.
One helpful detail: bonus points do not count toward either the per-transaction limit or the annual limit. Only the base points you buy count toward those caps.
Who Should Buy Aeroplan Points?
My usual guidance on buying points is simple: only buy them if you have a trip in mind and plan to use them in the near future. Buying points to sit in your account with no plan for them rarely pays off.
That said, if you are strategic about travel rewards, buying points during a strong promotion like this can be a game changer for your travel plans. Here are the key scenarios where purchasing points makes sense.
Reach your dream destination faster
Are you just a few thousand points short of that trip to Europe or Asia you have been planning? Instead of waiting months to accumulate more points through everyday spending, you can purchase exactly what you need and book your trip now. This is especially valuable for those larger, dream trips that require significant point balances.
Never miss last-minute getaways
We have all been there. An incredible flight deal pops up, but your Aeroplan balance is too low to take advantage of it. When you have the ability to buy points instantly, you are always ready for spontaneous travel opportunities. Do not let a low balance stop you from jumping on time-sensitive deals or last-minute adventures.
Gift points to a loved one
Short on points yourself but want to help someone else travel sooner? You can purchase points directly for another Aeroplan member's account, and they will receive both the base points and the bonus points. A great way to give the gift of travel.
Treat it like a travel savings fund
Think of buying Aeroplan points the same way you would save up for any major purchase. You can strategically top up your account throughout the year, especially during promotions like this one, building your travel fund for future adventures. It is a proactive approach to ensuring you have the points you need when the perfect travel opportunity arises. This approach works best if you travel often or already know you will put these points toward a major trip. The key is having a clear redemption or reason in mind before you buy, rather than banking points just to have them.
How Long Does It Take to Receive Points?
Point purchases through Aeroplan (processed by Points.com) generally post within 72 hours. In my personal experience purchasing points it has been nearly instantaneous.
However, if you are chasing a specific award availability, make sure to factor in this processing time before the seats disappear.
The Bottom Line
This is one of the more compelling buy points promotions Aeroplan has run recently, particularly if you have been targeted for the 110% bonus. At 1.79 cents per point (before tax), that top tier offers real value for members who have a specific redemption in mind or who want to build their travel fund strategically. The key is having a plan for your points.
Check your Aeroplan account and decide if now is the right time to invest in your future travels. The promotion runs until July 19, 2026, giving you a short window to evaluate your options and make an informed decision.
Happy travels!
