The Best Premium Economy Deals From Canada to Europe Right Now

1. Toronto to Copenhagen on SAS: 1.80x Economy

This is my top pick on the numbers. SAS is running Premium out of Toronto to Copenhagen for around $1,768 CAD when booked directly with them for travel between January and April 2027, flying the Airbus A321neo in a 2-2 layout.

Compare that to $981 CAD in Economy Light and you are paying about 1.8 times the economy fare to move up, which sits near the bottom of the normal range. But here is the second reason Copenhagen leads: business class on this route is sitting at $3,934 CAD. That makes Premium less than half the price of business for a seat that still gets you extra room, priority, and a better experience up front. If you were ever going to talk yourself into Premium, this is the route that makes it easy.

2. Montreal to Marrakesh on Air Transat: 1.86x Economy

Air Transat has Premium, which they call Club Class, from Montreal to Marrakesh for about $1,666 CAD through third parties or $1,718 CAD booking direct, with a wide window of October 2026 through June 2027.

Economy on this one is tricky to pin down because Eco Budget was already sold out, so the fairest comparison I can give you is Eco Standard at $897.74 CAD, which works out to roughly 1.86 times. In reality the gap from the very cheapest economy would be a little wider, but it still lands comfortably toward the bottom of the normal range.

What makes Marrakesh stand out beyond the price is the flying itself. This is the longest haul in the roundup, so you get the most hours in the better seat. Part of the route also operates on the Airbus A330 in a proper 2-2-2 widebody layout, which is a step up from the 2-2 layout on the narrowbody A321neo you get on most of these Transat routes. More on that distinction in my thoughts below.

3. Montreal to Porto on Air Transat: 1.99x Economy

Montreal to Porto in Club Class is running about $1,988 CAD against $998 CAD in economy, which is almost exactly double. That still sits in the lower half of the normal range, and Porto remains one of the most underrated city breaks in Europe, so I am happy to see Premium priced this reasonably here. Same A321neo in the 2-2 layout.

4. Montreal to Bordeaux on Air Transat: 2.19x Economy

Bordeaux is quietly one of my favourite entry points to France, and Air Transat has Premium here for around $1,676 CAD through third parties or $1,820 CAD direct for travel in November and December 2026. Against an Eco Budget fare of $763.93 CAD, that is about 2.19 times.

You are into the middle of the range here, but 2.19x is still comfortably inside what Premium normally costs you, and Bordeaux in late autumn with a glass of the local red is a very easy sell. Airbus A321neo, 2-2 seating.

5. Toronto to Paris on Air Transat: 2.53x Economy

Everyone wants Paris, and Air Transat is flying Premium there from Toronto for about $1,720 CAD via third parties or $1,865 CAD direct, for travel between September and November 2026. Economy sits at $679 CAD, so you are looking at roughly 2.53 times to move up.

That is the second-highest multiple on this list, which tells you Paris economy is cheap rather than Paris Premium being expensive. If the seat matters more to you than the savings, it is still a fair price to fly the A321neo in a 2-2 Club Class layout across to France.

6. Calgary to Paris on WestJet: 2.99x Economy

This one sits right at the edge of the normal range at 2.99 times, and on paper that makes it the weakest value of the six. I am including it anyway, because the raw multiple does not tell the whole story.

WestJet is running Premium from Calgary to Paris for about $1,897 CAD when booked directly with them for travel between January and March 2027. Economy UltraBasic is just $635 CAD, which is what drags the multiple up. But two things push back the other way.

First, this is the only route here flown by a widebody the whole way, a Boeing 787 in a 2-3-2 layout, so the hard product is a real step above the narrowbody A321neo used on the other routes. Second, business class on this route is a staggering $5,046 CAD, which means Premium comes in at under 40 percent of the business fare. As a way to fly a proper widebody Premium cabin to Paris without paying five thousand dollars, it earns its spot.

My Thoughts

The thing worth keeping in mind is what you are actually buying at these prices. On every one of these routes, Premium Economy gets you real legroom, a wider seat, priority boarding, and better food, which adds up to a meaningful upgrade on an overnight flight across the Atlantic. The two widebody routes go a step further on space: the Airbus A330 on part of the Marrakesh route and the Boeing 787 on Calgary to Paris give you a roomier 2-2-2 or 2-3-2 cabin, compared with the 2-2 layout on the narrowbody A321neo everywhere else.

The other thing I would flag is that a low multiple sometimes just means economy is expensive on that route, not that Premium is a steal. That is worth keeping in mind when you compare across cities. The multiple is a useful shortcut, but always sanity-check it against what you would actually pay in the back of the plane.

The Bottom Line

Premium Economy usually costs 1.5 to 3 times basic economy, and every route in this roundup lands inside that range.

The best of them sit right at the bottom of it. If you have been curious about flying up front to Europe or Morocco but never wanted to overpay for it, this is the window, because the one thing you want to avoid is paying more than this range for a Premium seat. Copenhagen and Marrakesh are my picks for pure value, while Copenhagen and Calgary make the strongest case for treating Premium as a business class substitute at a fraction of the cost.
