YEG Just Launched Canada's First Airport Loyalty Program. Here Is Everything You Need to Know.

Edmonton International Airport YEGplus loyalty program

If you fly out of Edmonton regularly, this one is going to make your trips a little more rewarding.

Edmonton International Airport just launched YEGplus, a brand new loyalty program that lets you earn points every time you park, shop, or dine at YEG. It is officially the first program of its kind at any Canadian airport, and it is completely free to join.

Intriguing, right? Let's dive in to learn more.

What Is YEGplus, Exactly?

YEGplus loyalty program overview

YEGplus is a spend-based loyalty program run by the Edmonton Regional Airports Authority. The idea is simple: every dollar you spend at participating merchants inside YEG earns you one point. Park your car, grab a coffee, pick up something at a terminal shop, and your balance starts climbing.

The program has three tiers:

Tier How to Qualify
YEGplus Essential Granted automatically upon enrollment
YEGplus Silver $500+ in qualifying spend per calendar year
YEGplus Gold $1,500+ in qualifying spend per calendar year

Tier status holds until December 31 of the following year, so once you earn it, you have a solid window to enjoy the perks.

YEGplus replaces YEG's previous programs, YEG Rewards and jetSet Rewards. If you were already a member of either, you should have received an email walking you through the transition.

How You Earn Points

Earning points at Edmonton Airport

The main way to earn is straightforward: 1 point per $1 spent at participating YEG partners. That covers parking reservations, dining, and retail throughout the terminal.

But there are faster ways to stack points too. You can earn bonus points by completing surveys, participating in exclusive campaigns, and referring friends to the program. You can also upload receipts directly through the app (up to 25 per month, within 60 days of the transaction), and earn points by uploading travel documents like boarding passes or itineraries.

A few things that are excluded from earning: lottery tickets, tobacco products, currency exchange commission fees, and gift cards where noted. Receipts need to show the store name, address, and itemized purchases, so hang onto them.

What You Can Redeem Points For

Points can go toward a few different things:

  • Online parking reservations at YEG
  • YEGplus Bon Voyage digital gift cards, usable at participating shops and restaurants in the terminal
  • Contest and sweepstakes entries for the chance to win bigger prizes

Points are valid for three years from the date they are earned, and they have no cash value. They are also non-transferable, so this is a solo benefit.

Higher tiers come with extra perks layered on top. Essential and Silver members get luggage wrap bundled with parking reservations, along with free coat check. Gold members get free luggage wrap without even needing a parking reservation. Each tier also comes with one-time bonus points upon achieving that level, plus access to exclusive contests.

Why This Is a Bigger Deal Than It Sounds

Canadian airports comparison

Currently, no other Canadian airport is doing this.

Many international airports have had loyalty programs for years, like the Extime Rewards program at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports. In the US, the Thanks Again program connects over 100 airports so travellers can earn across multiple cities. But in Canada, this simply has not existed at the airport level until now.

YEG is a not-for-profit community airport that supports nearly 23,000 jobs and generates $5.4 billion in economic output for the region. Launching a loyalty program is a meaningful way to deepen the relationship with the travellers who move through those doors constantly, whether they are commuters flying for work or families heading south for winter.

For Edmontonians who park at YEG a few times a year, the math starts to add up quickly. A $100 parking reservation earns 100 points. A few trips to the terminal shops and you are looking at a meaningful Bon Voyage gift card balance before too long.

The Bottom Line: How to Sign Up

Sign up for YEGplus at Edmonton International Airport

Head to yegplus.com and sign up for free. You need to be at least 18 years old and a Canadian resident to join.

There is also a launch incentive running right now: sign up before September 14, 2026 at 8 am for a chance to win a $20,000 travel voucher. That alone is worth the two minutes it takes to create an account.

If you fly through YEG even occasionally, there is genuinely no reason not to be earning points on spending you are already doing. The airport is there, the shops and parking are there, and now the rewards are too.
